Coyotes

This is a view of our house I don't see very often...we took a little 4 wheeler ride to check out the coyote. (see below) and I just liked this view!
Brian tagged a coyote yesterday morning.  Maddy barks all the darn time and most of the time we can't tell what she is barking at.  Well this particular morning we went outside to see what she was barking at and spotted 4 different coyotes and Brian was armed and ready! Tag em' and bag em' baby!

8 years in the making...

The title of this post is 8 years in the making because I started this quilt 8 years ago when I was in college. My roommate and I came home one weekend for the t-shirt quilt class (yeah remember that quilt a friends mom finished) ha! I saw this hanging on the wall and I loved it, so I bought all the pieces and started it...and never finished it....imagine that...my not finishing a quilt. I nominated mom to take the project over and she did a stand up job! I love love love it! She had it finished it no time!  Im so impressed!  Best part: IT GLOWS IN THE DARK!!!!

80's night

For Brian's 30th birthday we decided to throw an 80's themed dress up party, complete with pop rocks, pac man cake, rubik's cubes and cassette tapes. We were so impressed with everyone's outfits, it was so much fun to see everyone dressed up! Oh my gosh, there are so many more photos I could have posted, but will spare you all, I am sure you have better things to do!
I did tell Brian he is never, ever, never, growing his hair long...look at him...yikes!

Brock even shaved his head into a mo-hawk...now that was impressive!
 We played giant twister!

This photo cracks me up, I don't even know who took it, but check out the shoes, the acid wash jeans, the socks....hahahah!
I created a 80's photo backdrop for people to take pics in front of, complete with props.  I personally love photo booth set ups...I think they are so great!

The yard work continues...

Brian makes the most useful yet strangest things...he put a ball on his backhoe so he could easily move the trailer... with out hooking up to the truck....it's pretty handy.
Remember the yard projects from last August?  Well they are commencing once again, with the nice weather we are enjoying working outside again.
Here we are moving rocks with the backhoe, I was riding in the basket up front and thought I would snap a picture!

Crafty

I now know where I get my craftiness from...my mom. She has busted out some of the cutest projects lately.  Check out this pillow she made for my living room to go with my birdie pillow she made me!  How awesome!
I get all my banner inspiration from Emily as she is the banner queen...Brock and Amber are having a girl and so I made them a cute name banner for her room.
I got the brainiac idea to make felt iphone cases.  How fun are these! Cute and they keep your precious phone soft and protected in your purse.

Spring Clean Up

This weekend was dedicated to yard maintenance..and there was lots of it. Saturday was such a beautiful day so we took advantage. We raked leaves...blew leaves, mowed leaves, picked up sticks, branches etc..  That's the problem with all these huge poplars by the time all the leaves fall there's snow on the ground and you have to wait till spring for clean up.
'
I was covered in dirt. You can't see it here, but it was in my teeth!
We changed all the really high up light bulbs and yes Boss insists on using the backhoe, its much more fun then using a ladder.
We burned the leaf pile...
He trimmed all the hedges...
And all the while Maddy found all this labor way to exhausting, so she napped.
