Visitors from Lincoln

Sunday after Christmas Seth, Carrie & Rece came over for a little visit!  It was so nice to see them! I need to get back to Nebraska for another visit.

Ice Skating

The Winchester Wasteway below Lyndsy and Ashley's is nice and frozen, perfect for an ice skating adventure.
Nicole and Gus came skating too!  Ashley even had the perfect skating chair for her.
The boys played a little hockey!
This was Payton's idea of skating.
Me finishing a triple axel, perfect landing.

Christmas Family Pics

The Faw Family are such good sports about my constant photo taking!  It was a little frosty and white out so we took some family pics!

Christmas Day

Christmas day was a nice relaxing day spent eating and enjoying family, and of course opening presents.  Santa mugs always make their appearance for Christmas!
Shelley's cute wrapping!
Lil' Faw got some books!
Anika is helping Brian open his tie clip.
Us girls got very cute hats and fingerless gloves for texting!
Ofcourse we had to take some fun pictures with them!

Christmas Eve Festivities

This year we spent a wonderful couple days at Suncadia with the Faw Family.  We started off the Christmas Eve festivities with decorating a good ol' fashioned Christmas tree!  Complete with cranberry and popcorn strings, paper links, and tinsel!  It was awesome!

Cookie Baking Extravaganza

My favorite part of December is baking, Brian doesn't mind it much either!  With Grandma Hunter's recipes in hand (and a few additions) I had to really choose what I wanted, you see Grandma Hunter has about 10 cookie recipes that are delicious, normally Jolene-Mom-and I will divide and conquer, but since we are not all getting together I had to pick what I wanted.
Jam Thumprints- anything with poppy seeds, I am in.
Date Pinwheels- a little spice and chewy date center…..
Chocolate Crinkles- cake like brownie cookie, can't beat em'
Sand Tarts- by far the best cookie with a cup of tea
Spritzers- a hint of almond and a little crunch, these are always Brian's favorite
Gingerbread- too cute not to make, but soft and chewy
Toffee- I may never measure up to Aunt Cheryl's but it was pretty tasty
Candy Cane Shortbreads- a buttery oatmeal cookie with a glaze, mmmmm
Tea Wafers- got this recipe from Jonda and it is a bite size piece of heaven, while the most tedious, it has the least amount of ingredients, and o so flaky- melts in your mouth
There are so many more cookies I could have made...I think I bought Costco out of butter for the time being.

Christmas Cheer

I have been on the hunt for a tree exactly like this little table top tree for awhile now, and the other day I found it and I LOVE it!  It is the perfect addition to my Christmas decor.
I am particularly fond of this year's Christmas packaging that I chose. It's elegant and oh so charming with that little tree!

Who doesn't love a kids Christmas craft?  Ruth made me this little sock snowman and she named her Chrysanthemum.
Last but not least, there's the 23 week Christmas belly.

The Big Gender Reveal

If you haven't already heard the news,  we're happy to say that it's a boy! This photo was taken at the ultrasound at 19 weeks!  Since we found out the week before Thanksgiving, we knew we wanted to wait to tell anyone, since we would see our families the next week and then shortly after send out Christmas cards.  I don't even know how we came up with the scratch ticket idea, but I knew it was what I wanted to do.
Here's the scratch tickets we made for our families.
And the gender reveal in the Christmas Card.

AgForestry

Look who made the newspaper!!!
Brian cleans up pretty good in a suit, eh?! He has been busy attending conferences with AgForestry and has been enjoying those.  It's a little over a 2 year program and it should have a big reward in the end of international travel.  Pretty cool!

Playing in the snow

This winter has been a little depressing, it's December 16th and we haven't had a skiff of snow at home!  I can't believe it!!! Luckily we can get to the mountains to play in the snow!
Can't beat a day like this, blue skies and fluffy white stuff!!! Love it!
