Scenes from the Road

We rose at 3:30 am on Monday morning and were out the door at 3:54 am. We made it to Highlands Ranch Colorado (a suburb of Denver) in 17.5 hours. After only 4 fuel stops and 1200 some miles we made it. Luckily we had no bad weather and fairly dry roads. Brian should have been a truck driver for a living...he drove 17 hours and I drove 1/2 hour. He just trucked along....crazy guy! I was surprised we didnt see more snow...here's a few scenes from the road.

Christmas 2009

In an effort to get my self together for the 22 hour road trip to Colorado for Jeff and Emily's wedding here is a brief re-cap of our Christmas week. On Tuesday we had a cookie decorating party for lifegroup....here's all the ladies! What a fun group we are! Thursday we spent Christmas eve with the Faw family, Christmas day we spent with the Hunter Fam, Saturday we spent the afternoon with the entire Faw fam (all 38 +/- a few) and tomorrow (Monday) we leave at 4 am....wish me luck! We had a fantastic Christmas spent with Family, hope you all did too!
Maddy and Elsie got to play for the first time....they had fun together! Shelley, Stephanie and I get new socks every year, this was this years debut, and I couldn't resist the Elf Hats at the store....
Kevin gave Brian and I these super cool shirts for Xmas...they say "Christmas Road Rage" Santa is saying to the pilot "Outta the way, I'm on a tight schedule" and the Pilot says "Nice suit, fly boy!" Loved them. Had to wear them Xmas day. We spent most of the day preparing an amazing meal of prime rib, Jolene's homemade Ukrainian Bread, Salad, Taters, and my favorite Brussel Sprouts with Feta..amazing. Dad got a sweet shirt from Jolene that reads "Just be happy, I'm not a twin" So true! Love you dad...teehee! I got Addy Lou a sweet stick horse, named her Flo. You might wonder what Eric is wearing....that would be a leisure suit from my Grandpa Hunter (him and Eric are the exact same size and when Grandma was here last year she gave it to Eric...seriously) It was awesome...
For dessert I made a to die for Mallow Cranberry Cheesecake with Sugared Cranberries...wowza...Jolene and I made a wonderful blackberry pie!

Snowshoeing in Leavenworth

Shelley and I went to Wenatchee and met Kara so a little snowshoeing adventure in Leavenworth. While there wasn't a ton of snow, it was a nice day to be outside in the fresh air. On a side note: Brian went skiing with his Dad this weekend, he promised me he would take his camera....I guess I should have made him promise to take his camera AND TO TAKE PICTURES!
Down by the Sleeping Lady (a really cool resort in Leavenworth) they have these huge fish scattered by Icicle Creek...very artsy and fun. Of-course we couldn't resist pictures!
Melissa and Noah met up with us afterwards for a little visit!

Fish Taco's and Shelley's Birthday Dinner

I always love when Shelley's birthday rolls around because she loves trying new recipes. This year we made fish tacos, and had a little taste of the tropics, complete with fresh mango salsa, pineapple, fresh avocado cream sauce, guacamole, and a black bean and corn salad. Oh man it was so delicious! I also love it because instead of cake Shelley always has ice cream pie....mint chocolate chip ice cream pie....so delicious!

Action Shots

Last week I was working on some promo materials for Southview Ranches (a development of 40 acre parcels that my mom has listed) well we needed some actions shots out on the property...who else could we think of to be our model....BRIAN! Poor guy....he is always subject to my crazy ideas. It was like minus 100 degrees outside, I am surprised I didn't have frost bite....anyway.... that's all I have to report this week. I CAN'T believe it is almost Christmas....its almost 2010 people...where is time going...where?

inJoy the Season of Giving

We, Staci and Jonda, love this time of year. Icicles, peppermint mocha's, the smell of evergreen trees and the joy of giving the "perfect gift." Unfortunately, this time of year also presents hardships for many individuals and families who are dear to our hearts.

It's for this reason that we've created inJoy 2009. This holiday season we would like to give back to one individual/family who is in need of some serious tender-loving care.

We invite you to nominate someone you feel could benefit from a custom photo session by sending an email to djspurbeck@hotmail.com. We want to know the story of your nomination, and why you feel they should be the winners of inJoy 2009. We are looking for an individual/family in the Moses Lake/Wenatchee or surrounding areas who is having financial hardships, lost loved one or have survived a significant struggle.

On Dec. 23, 2009, we will announce the winner on our blogs. The individual/family chosen will receive a custom photo session, a set of 4x6 prints and three 11x14 prints of theirchoice. BUT... that's not all... The person who nominated the winner of inJoy 2009 will also receive a mini photo session and a set of 4x6 prints.

Help us spread some Joy! Please nominate someone deserving today! God bless.

I love my friends! Bachelorette weekend!

I titled this post I love my friends, because they are such a wonderfully fun group of girls! And I am lucky to know them! This weekend was Lyndenn's bridal shower/bachelorette weekend. We stayed at the Davenport Hotel (which is amazing), went to PF Changs for Dinner, and danced the night away...and yes I am wearing pink tights! And yes Emily is is nothing but PURPLE!

Our Christmas Pictures in Review

Sarah posted a few pictures from back in the day and it spurred me to go looking through my old pictures...here is what I found. Here are the last three years of Brian and I at Christmas, i discovered I think I have a thing for wearing sweaters in the photos, which make me laugh, I already have a new one I am going to wear this year. Anywho! That's all from me!
