Cruisin' up North

Sunday, Brian and I set out on a day ride and it ended up being a beautiful day, perfect weather, and awesome scenery.  We left home at 10:30 went to Kelley Ferry, Republic, over to Tonasket, through Nespelum, Omak, the Grand Coulee Dam and got home around 6:30,  It ended up being about a 250 mile ride.  The colors were starting to change into fall there was a warm breeze and the smell of the pine trees, it was pretty much therapeutic.

GW turn ONE!

Saturday we all made the trip to Prosser to celebrate Gunnar's First Birthday!  It was a awesome afternoon filled with amazing Eric BBQ pork shoulders, mexican fare, and ofcourse cake!  Which he did an excellent job of smashing and consuming the entire thing!
It was so fun to have Grandma Hunter here and her three boys!
Jolene and I have many memories of flying down to grandma and grandpa's causing a ruckus in the orange and avocado orchards, snacking on cookies and tea in the afternoons, sneaking candy with grandpa, and sitting on the back patio enjoying the fresh Cali air!  Miss those days!

Salsa

Julia found an awesome recipe for canned salsa so we made a trip to Reuben's (which is a gigantic u-pick garden/farm) I have never seen so many tomato plants in my life and the rows and rows of peppers would amaze you!  His prices are sooo cheap too!  We picked 4 lbs of jalapenos, 30 bell peppers, 50+ pounds of tomatoes....you get the picture...it was ALOT!
The real chore was chopping, I peeled 24 onions and 12 heads of garlic....
 Blanchin' the maters.
All the chopped veggies, God Bless the food processor!
We literally spent all day making salsa it was exhausting and fun all at the same time!
Can't wait to eat this mid winter!

Pickles

It still amazes me that cucumbers turn into pickles with a little vinegar and water!  My neighbor gave me a huge bag of cucs so I went to work and made garlic dill pickles!

Cows

Well the poor cows this year have had their thunder stolen by the cute little piglets!  Now that the piglets are gone they are making their appearance! They have been enjoying their green lush pasture and soaking up the hot summer days!  Pretty soon they will get to munch on corn and grain and be fat and happy!

More fun on the Snake

There was a herd of deer and wily turkeys that hung out around the place we were staying.  They were fairly friendly and even let Brian feed them apples.
 Playing a little ladder golf.
 Relaxing on the beach!
Addison and I enjoyed jumping off the rocks.
Here's the scenery of the place we stayed at.  Awesome!
Look closely you can see Brian mid-air!
