Sunday Funday

Sunday Brian, Ashley, Lyndsy and I toook a Sunday Funday motorcycle ride. We decided to take a back road to Yakima an stop for lunch at Miner's.  This burger joint is somewhat of an icon around these parts.  It's where all the sports busses stopped in high school for dinner after games, I hadn't been here in years, literally. Their burgers are huge and their milkshakes are yummy.
Canyon road is a very windy scenic road....perfect spot for me to start practicing my corners...which means Brian rides on the back...Ashley thinks this is just too funny...I kinda do too.  Brian not in control and me driving...it's awesome!
We still need a name for our motorcycle gang.

Wedding Season

Wedding season has begun...this was a good one to start with.  Last weekend was Eric and Alice's wedding.  I sold Eric and Alice a house a few months ago and come to find out Alice is a stud muffin of a runner so we've been running ever since then.  (She totally kicks my butt, its good for me!)  Their wedding was so cute they had it on the farm which they just bought and it was perfect-o.

Blooms!

Spring is officially here with our 80 degree weather, beautiful sunshiny days, and cool nights.  The orchards are in full bloom and I love it!  It finally warm enough to run in shorts and a tank top!  Ahhhh sunshine!  Happy Spring!

This little piggie...

We got oinkers!  Brian has decided to add pork to our list of meats to sell this year so we've been working on the pig pen and went and got them last week!  They are so funny!
This one is my favorite little piglet.
This little bugger is the most curious. He likes to sniff my feet.
Doesn't this one remind you of Babe!

Sprouted Rice and Quinoa

The photo does not do this salad justice.  It is so tasty, fresh, and healthy!

Orange, Almond, Grain Salad

1 cup TruRoots Sprouted Rice and Quinoa Blend
¼ cup orange juice
2 tablespoons olive oil
½ teaspoon grated orange zest
¼ teaspoon salt and pepper
2/3 cup orange sections
¼ cup chopped pecans or almonds
2 stalks celery

Cook Truroots Sprouted Rice and Quinoa Blend according to package directions. Cool to room temperature. Whisk together juice, oil, zest, and s&p in a medium bowl. Add Sprouted Rice and Quinoa Blend, orange sections, pecans, and celery.  Chill. Side note, I did use fresh squeezed orange juice.

There are so many amazing things I could also think to add to this salad, golden raisins, other nuts, scallions, etc.  Make it, you will love!

Jolene's Birthday Celebration

Really Jolene's Birthday is about cake for me.  It's when I get to make whatever cake I want and experiment.  This year I chose a chocolate cake with peanut butter cream cheese frosting and chocolate peanut butter ganache.  IT DID NOT disappoint!  It was sooooooo good!
Brian and I drove down to Prosser for an afternoon BBQ.
Eric made an equally amazing pork butt on the bbq and invited some of their friends.  The gals made yummy sides and it was a great day outside playing in the yard with friends.
Here is Boss teaching LindyJean to ride a bull.
And having a hula hoop contest with the little people...
We got cake pops for the little people cake for the big people!
 Happy Birthday Jo!

Diggin'

This past week Brian has been working on diggin' some new trenches at the pasture to lay some new pipe for the irrigation system.  He loves playing with the backhoe.
After laying the pipe we filled it back in and Brian compacted it back down with the hoe.
There's just something about big tire tracks in the dirt, boys love it!

Easter Sunday

After a great pancake breakfast at church we went to Ma and Pa Faw's for an awesome lunch of baby back ribs, taters, three bean salad, and more yummy stuff!
I couldn't resist getting cake pops and cake balls from Sweetharrt Treats!  How amazing are these....they tasted awesome too!

Biker Babes

Brian was gone last week in Cali lookin' at green beans, so when the Pingetzer clan went out on a bike ride for Ashley's Birthday, Ashley had to cart me around!  It was awesome!

The Old Rugged Cross

I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.
John 11:25-26

It's Easter Weekend and Brian and I are busily getting things ready for church on Sunday.  We made these crosses for our centerpieces for the church service.  We took some old wooden bins and cut them up.  Brian made some steel bases and rusted them out.  I think they look pretty good!  Remember the real reason for Easter this year.  Cause even though the Easter bunny is cute and lay's yummy eggs filled with candy, Jesus died for you on the cross!

Happy Easter!

Visiting Friends

It's spring break so I decided to take a few days and visit Joelle and Emily. At Joelle's we crafted and vegged out and it was lovely.  We painted wooden boxes for some Easter Egg displays, here's Jack and Jovie painting away.  Such concentration.
Joelle found this awesome little smore's bar in a jar recipe with peeps.  How cute is this!  What a cute easter gift!
 Our cute painted pots.

After a night at Joelle's I headed up a little farther north to Abbotsford to see Emily and Quin, where we had coffee with Patsy, Stephanie and her mom Sheila.  Stephanie is a friend of the Bartsch Family and I am making her wedding invites so it was fun to meet her, she has such pretty red hair!
After some shopping in town, it was such a beautiful day that we decided to go on a walk with Candice who lives down the street....Quin and Candice's baby Gracey are just a few weeks apart.   What a lovely few days spent with lovely people!
