Last weekend we celebrated Mom's birthday with dinner (bbq brisket, twice baked taters, green beans, and squash!) and her favorite poppyseed custard cake.

Deutschesfest in Odessa
Odessa is a small town about an hour from Ephrata and they have a yearly German Festival known as Duetschesfest. Basically they have awesome food like cabbage rolls, kraut runza, german sausage, apple streudel, and other things I can't pronounce that were equally deicious!
We met up with Katie and Nicole.
It was a lovely day for a fall ride.

GW turns 2
Can't believe this dude is 2. Look at that grin! Dad and I made a mad dash to Prosser for dinner and cake, which were both lovely! Wait till you see the cool cake Jo made. (I'll let her post it)
This is what you get when you ask a 3 year old to pose.
I made GW a motorcycle shapes book with photos from Boss' and my bikes. It's fun!

Summer Time Canning
Lately my kitchen has been a revolving door of a disaster, I think my dishwasher has been runnugn non-stop...with canning season in full swing that's just how it works...and I feel like I haven't even canned my usual load counts! Meanwhile, Mad-Dog has been enjoying our evening walks.
Plum jam...oh so tart and tasty.
Raspberry jam, tastes like the real thing.
Maddy takes her self for a swim post walk.
We enjoyed dinner at Cave B one evening with some foreigner's for that were here doing field visits.
Brian hand picked these green beans for me to can from his varieties. Green beans are one of his favorite canned items.
Canning Tomatoes of any sort has to be one of the most labor intensive jobs...the blanching and peeling and coreing, and chopping is time consuming, but freshly canned stewed tomatoes do make a homemade spaghetti sauce taste amazing, so it's all worth it in the end. Disaster of a kitchen and all! Pretty much sums up the last few weeks around here. Work, Can/Cook, Sew, Sleep, Repeat.

Quilts
The quilt obsession continues.....I am loving these small quilts for baby shower gifts. This is my latest favorite. The puff quilt I made for Alice. You have to see this one in person to appreciate the puff.
The Ombre quilt...simple with beautiful tavishing as the quilting. Paula did an amazing job on this one, look at the detail in it.
The Chevron. Colorful, funky, and my favorite is the teal binding.
The 70's. Whacky colors and simple squares. I just love it's quirky nature.

Alice's Baby Shower
This weekend we had a baby shower for Alice. It was a lovely saturday morning spent with friends.
We had a combined food effort we had a iced coffee bar, quiche, fritatta, cinnamon rolls, lemon-blueberry rolls, and pumpking donuts! It was fantastic!
Here's the quilt I made for Baby Hazel
Best part of the shower is that we all went out for pedicures!
Fun Decor!

Adventures to Marysville
Jonda and I had a wedding to photograph in Arlington and were planning to stay at Ambers in Marysville so the Pingetzer crew loaded up and headed North. Jonda took Ashley's kiddos, and we took Kim and Lyndsy and rode the motorcycles. It was a beautiful day for a ride.
Stopped in Winthrop for lunch. Lame as it is, I took no photos once we got to Ambers...whoops!
The North Cascades is a beautiful ride...
