Rainy Day Ride

On Monday-Brian and I decided to take a ride up to Aaron and Amy's to see their place.  It's about 2 hours away and we started off the day wondering if it might rain...it wasn't in the forecast...so we went with it.  Well after being at Aaron and Amy's for about an hour the downpour started and we knew it would be a rainy ride home. We had a lovely visit and it was a pretty ride there.

 Let's just say we were soaked to the core when we got home...Except our upper bodies, our coats are rain proof so that was nice.  But toes and fingers...those were a bit chilly!

Portlandia

This weekend we had a weird girls weekend in Portland for Meagan's Bachlorette Party! (and I say weird cause Portland's motto is 'Keep Portland Weird') We had a super fun time! We went to Voodoo Doughnuts, ate at lots of Food Trucks, had an awesome dinner at Deschutes Brewery, went to the Zoo, spent some time in the Pearl District, and it was awesome- I love these girls!

Green Thumb 2013

My favorite thing about May is planting my pots with herbs, a few flowers, and sprucing up the yard. I went with a thai basil this year, some thyme, marjoram, sage, a few flowers, and am loving my set of three orange pots I found. 

The End of an Era

Last weekend we had the chance to celebrate Brian's old boss Randy from National's Retirement after 43 years...(all with National).  It was a lovely celebration and so fun to see so many great people.  We have spent alot of time with these awesome folks over the years and we hope that continues because they are a wonderful set of friends.

Mother's Day

Shout out for Mother's Day!

Mom has an annual horse show in Moses Lake the weekend of Mother's Day, so I went over in the morning to watch and hang out for awhile.

 Then it was over to Shelley's for dinner with the Faw Family.  Shelley made a lovely meal of cedar plank salmon, grilled asparagus, and roasted taters!

I was in charge of desserts and I can never decide on just one thing so I tried my hand at a raspberry chiffon pie and a chocolate cake with whipped peanut butter frosting.  Both were excellent!

Girls Weekend at Whidbey Island

Katie, Nicole, Ashley, and I took a little sabbatical from life over the weekend and enjoyed some time on Whidbey Island.  The weather was phenomenal, the food was delicious, the sights were fantastic, and the company lovely.  Ofcourse they had to endure my photo taking shenanigans...

 We found a great little place to ride some go-karts. They had themed cars.  Awesome!
