Hallow's Eve

Saturday Brian and I spent the day in Lind at Josh and Lyndenn's with some friends. We started the day out by gathering some treasures from the broken down barn at Josh and Lyndenn's...
A perfect hanger for plants.
I love old barns, half falling over or not...
Oooh treasures!
Yes, my husband is a patient man, as I was reminded on Saturday by the gals...that is him unbolting a door from the barn for me to take home.
After our barn excursions we shot guns and then we shot some pumpkins with guns.
That evening all of us rallied and made a fantastic dinner. We started with pumpkin juice, a nice concoction of ginger ale, spiced cider, and rum...even better out of a skeleton straw. Then we had flank steak, twice baked taters, balsamic feta green beans, salad, and pumpkin cheesecake.
Me, Amy, Megan, Lyndenn, Nicole, and Meagan
To top the evening off we carved pumpkins, and as it was stated many times that night, we are getting old...we carved pumpkins on a Saturday night and then all went home by 10:00...yep, old! Kyle won the award for the 'best rack' check out his freehand deer carving...pretty good eh!?

Pumpkin Patch

Sunday on our way out of town we stopped in Burlington at the Frazier Farms Pumpkin Patch. Lloyd used to work at National when they had their plant in Burlington and when National moved to Moses Lake, he stayed in Burlington...well he has a HUGE pumpkin patch with every variety of pumpkin you can imagine...I never even knew that many varieties existed. If you are ever over that way in October go check it out, its awesome!

Adventures up North

Friday night Brian and I headed up to Anacortes for a weekend off, a much needed break for the Bri-Guy! Kevin (one of his co-workers) has a beach cabin in Anacortes and was gracious enough to let us hang out there for the weekend. Here is Brian and Kevin!
Bryan and Emily came down to meet us for the weekend.
We started it off right with an evening of smores! Those marshmallows don't look like it in the picture but they are HUGE!
Saturday am we woke up and relaxed on the deck and enjoyed the view before we headed out on a hike.
Beautiful sunrise.
We jetted over to Mount Erie for what we thought was gonna be a little hike...it actually turned into three hours...it was a blast, but apparently the trail mapping system is confusing because we ended up hiking in circles...it was a beautiful day though so it was great!
After our hike we ventured out to Deception Pass, which is just such a cool bridge!
With spectacular views all the way around.
Then we went and toured Kevin's berry farm.
Sunday we woke up and headed over to Whidbey Island to check out Fort Casey.

Good Food, Good Friends, Good Fun

While Brian was out celebrating the official end of harvest with everyone at work, (they always get to have end of the season gatherings...end of peas...dinner, end of lima beans....dinner, end of corn...dinner, it's a nice reward for some hard work). It's too bad I can't get Brian to carry a camera everywhere...we would see some interesting things...Shelley, Ashley and I went celebrate as well! We went to Michael's for some appetizers and good company. It's nice to have good friends.

Candy Corn Wreaths

Friday night Rachel had Shelley and I over for pizza, a movie, and craft night. It was awesome, she had all the supplies to make candy corn wreaths.
All it took was some Styrofoam wreaths, black duct tape, hot glue and candy corns.
we were being silly with the candy corns...
almost done.
Wahoo, I can't wait to hang it up! Thanks Rachel for the fantastic night and great idea!

Carrot Harvest 101

The countdown begins! There is only 1 week until Harvest if OVER and Brian can have his life back! Carrot harvest is in full swing and corn is almost over! So here is your carrot harvest 101 lesson. I went out the other morning with Brian for a little ride along.
This tractor goes first and tops the carrots...notice the difference between the front and back..
This is what they look like...
This the harvester goes through and digs them outta the ground and dumps them into the truck.
Here they are on the conveyer belt.
These carrots are larger then my foot! They are soooo stinkin' tasty too!

Fall Fling

Yesterday Ephrata had a Fall Fling Festival and I was on the committee so I got to be there all day. While the turn out was poor and the it rained all day, I still had fun! Kim from PhotoGenics Photobooth and Brock and Amber and Brian and I took advantage of the fun.

It's Fall

Yep, it's official. Applesauce and Pumpkins definitely solidify fall for me. The Stagg Clan picked a BUNCH of apples for us to make applesauce with, so Jolene came up Wednesday night we got started.
56 quarts later...YUMMERS! We made plain golden, some with cinnamon, and some spiced!
After mass amounts of canning we decided to take the Bitty-Kins and LindyJean to the Pumpkin Patch to get some pumpkins and gourds. After the pumpkin patch, Boss met us at DK's for burgers and fries...it was AWESOME!
We even found Bitty sized Pumpkins!

Nebraska Part 3

While I was in Nebraska, Carries friends Katie, Tiffany, and I threw Carrie a baby shower, which I was so excited to be a part of. Katie made awesome squash potato soup, pesto bruschetta, chicken salad mini sandwhiches, and wonderful cupcakes!
The best part of this shower was there were NO games! Yep, we are breakin' the mold, who likes games anyway right? Katie and Tiffany are wonderful seamstress' and have loads of fabric, so we decided to let people pick a shape and fabric and make something cute on a onesie or burp cloth and it was soooo much fun!
Here is my robot and Tiffany's owl...which was sooo amazing.
Here is Carrie and I with more onesies.
Katie makes amazing baby booties...how cute are these. This is Carrie's favorite fabric.
