Card Exchange

So I can't claim these ideas, because I totally stole them from Emily.......she is a creative genius! Seriously! Today is my every-other-month card exchange where a bunch of awesome ladies get together and trade cards that they have made. So basically you made 13 cards and take them with you and you leave with 13 cards of all different types, it is so great! Here are my cute cards for this month. A perfect use for all that extra fabric lying around.

The Wedding

Kevin and Meara's wedding was beautiful...the weather was spectacular, the venue amazing, the ceremony fabulous, the food delicious, the bride and groom were stunning, and the company so much fun! I tried not to be the annoying photographer that isn't actually the photographer at an event, so I don't have any formals of the two of them, I did steal this photo at sunset...couldn't resist. We had a great day celebrating with Kevin and Meara. Brian is getting pretty good with his dance moves, there was 5 kinds of cake, 5....have I ever mentioned that's the only reason that I go to weddings is for the cake...well when there are 5 kinds, I am in heaven. Their cake was amazing....all five kinds!

Gotta love awkard wedding toasts...except when they aren't awkard at all like none of these were, they were great! Leigha, Meara's sister gave a very cute speech, Kyle the best man, was so genuine, and well Brian he is always a good speaker.

Kevin and Meara did a great job of smashing cake in eachothers faces...so cute. She even had it on her forehead. I love Leigha's face in the pic.

Kevin and Meara Wedding Weekend Rehearsal

Today is wedding day! Wahoo! Yesterday we had an awesome dinner at Twigs in Spokane after a nice rehearsal at Beacon Hill Winery.

SMORES CAKE! This was insanely good, I have to make it. Except I want to toast the marshmallows on the top under the broiler, then it would be perfect!

Fresh Strawberry Pie

This is seriously the best fresh berry pie you will eat...don't take my word for it. MAKE IT!

Start with some yummy fresh picked berries!

Fresh Strawberry Pie

4 cups strawberries

1 cup sugar

1 cup water

1/4 cup lemon juice

1/4 cup corn starch

Cookie Crust

3 tablespoon sugar

1 cup flour

6 tablespoon butter

Cut the butter into the flour and sugar until it forms a thin moist crumb. Press into a 9 inch pie plate, making the bottom thicker then the sides. Bake at 450* for 10 minutes or until golden and cool.

For the Pie

Combine 1 1/2 cup strawberries, sugar, water, and lemon juice in a sauce pan. Bring to a boil and simmer uncovered 1 minute. Pour into a blender with the starch. Whirl until smooth. Pour mixture back in saucepan and cook over medium heat until it becomes thicker and translucent, cool slightly. Pour half into the crust, pile the berries, and pour the remaining sauce. Cool and refrigerate.

Rock Hunting

Saturday morning Brian and I got up early and drove up above Vantage for a little four wheeler ride and basalt rock hunt. Such a beautiful view...
