4th of July Festivities

This 4th of July was definitely different.  I started the morning off at the Cherry Bomb Fun Run in George.  It was a 6 mile run and I ended up getting second overall for the women and winning my age group!  And was very happy with my time if 44:45.  As I was running and at about mile 5, I seriously wondered to my self why I ever gave up running cause I really enjoy it and it's fairly easy for me...it feels good to be pounding the pavement again!

Brian was setting up the FFA Alumni Booth where we spent the rest of the day selling hamburgers to raise money for the FFA.  (No pictures, it was crazy busy this year, we sold out of burgers by 12:30.....)
After selling burgers we met Russ, Cathy, Jared, Shelley, and Sandy (Jared's mom, and little Levi) for some water activities. Russ and Cathy brought the jet ski and it was a fun little toy.
After running the race in the morning, standing all day at the booth, and setting and cleaning up the booth Brian and I were just tired...we ended up just vegging on the boat and going to bed at 9.  No fireworks here folks...

We went to a friends home for some wonderful food !! No fireworks either since we were under a FIREWORKS Ban ! Since we lived only 1 hour each direction from a total of 550 or more burned homes, we all respected the ban. Maybe next year

Way to go Staci! I'm so glad you're enjoying running, and doing so well in the races you've entered. I am chomping at the bit to get back on a running schedule. Once you get going, it is so rewarding and does so much for the mind, body, and spirit. Way to go!
