It is really spring around here, the official stick picking up has begun. Our house is surrounded by poplar trees and I have developed a love hate relationship with the poplars. See they block us from the wind, give some good shade, privacy, and are nice and green, but when the wind blows in the spring, the poplar trees lose alot of branches...this Brian has given me and Maddy the official title of stick picker uppers. So after the wind has blown Mad-Dog and I hook up the 4-wheeler trailer and go on a stick picking up adventure.
I got side-tracked today obviously by the only flower I have in my yard, it is blooming and there was a bee in it.
Maddy is part of the official stick picking up club becuase she is so good at helping. She likes to hide behind the poplars and when I walk by with a load of sticks in my head she likes to steal them...she waits for me to get a good one and then yanks it and runs. She even sometimes thinks the attached ones are fun to chew on....see below.
Today I picked up a stick with a bees nest....with bees in it...I dropped it and ran until they were gone.
I nominated Brian to be the official stick getter-ridder...I pick up, he dumps the trailer.
The pretty spring sky...what a great day!

We had poplar trees my whole childhood. Luckily my parents created 4 of their very own "picker uppers." Brings back memories.................
Holy Cow! Official Stick Picker Uppers... you need to visit Prosser and help in our yard, after the gail force winds our trees lost enough sticks & leaves that you'd think the sky had opened up and rained them on us.
Dont'cha love home maintenance.
Glad that Maddy is such a good helper :) All I have to say is that I wish I had a four wheeler/trailer when I was out picking up branches after my rents got their poplars prooned!
