Goodbye Little Piglets

I do have to say I think these were my favorite piggies yet.  They were just funny, they would come running when I could come see them.  The spotted piglet was the most friendly and chewed on my shoes the most.  But as the summer goes by these little piglets turn into big pigs and they make tasty bacon...so it's see ya on my breakfast plate...bye piggies!

Sunday Boating

A few weekends ago Jared, Shelley, Sophia, Brian and I were able to spend an afternoon on the water.  It was relaxing and the weather was perfect.  I even think Sopia enjoyed her first boat ride.

Pickles and Spaceburgers

One of my favorite things to can in the summer is pickles.  And the cucumbers were ready! So Emily and I got to work.  She came down to her mom's for a few days so we made pickles and ate space burgers at the fair!

Blueberries!

I have been trying to take advantage of the fresh produce around here while it lasts and there is a great u-pick berry farm near by.  So Julia, Natalie and I went picking one-day.  They are so tasty fresh!

Custer State Park & Mt. Rushmore

There was some amazing riding in South Dakota and we hit the majority of it I think.  Our last day of riding was in Custer State Park and then over to Mt. Rushmore.  Custer State park is a reserve so there are no fences so it was really fun to see all the wildlife right on the roads.
Tons of Anteloupe
The road to Mt. Rushmore was awesome, it was so curvy and beautiful.  There are numerous tunnels through the rocks so that when you drive through they frame Mt. Rushmore and it's gorgeous! But they are one way tunnels so honking is required through them!
While we were in the gift shop at Rushmore it started raining, with no choice but to hit the road we headed for Keystone to eat lunch.  After lolly-gagging around after lunch and it was still raining we checked the doppler and decided to make a run for it.  We got about 15 minutes outta town when the hail started....and this wasn't little hail.  This was golf ball sized ice balls hail...they hurt, like gave you bruises and welts hurt.  The bikes had little damage thankfully, Ashleys gas cap was toast and I got  ding in my light.  We had no choice but to pull over and take shelter in the trees and watch the lighting strike!  It made for some great memories!

Black Hills and Deadwood

After spending the night in Rapid City the next morning we woke up and hit the road for some riding through SD.  We hit the Black Hills National Forest, the town of Deadwood, and over to Hot Springs.
There was lot of this going on, mapping routes and finding the good roads.
 We made it to Deadwood!
It was a really cool old school town.
There were some awesome roads and riding in this part of South Dakota.
We found our way to a Wild Horse Sanctuary and it was a pretty view at the top. So the biker club stuck a pose!
